Netanyahu to the Lebanese people: ‘Israel is not at war with you. Join Israel. Once Hezbollah is dismantled, the possibilities are endless’
The United States has carried out multiple strikes inside Iran after President Trump vowed to respond to the downing of a US Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz. While Trump initially said the US “must respond” to the incident, he later appeared to downplay its significance, telling The Wall Street Journal that it “wasn’t a big deal” and emphasizing that “the pilot is fine.” Both crew members were rescued unharmed. The US military said the latest strikes were a proportional response to Iranian actions, marking a further escalation in already heightened regional tensions.

Netanyahu to the Lebanese people: ‘Israel is not at war with you. Join Israel. Once Hezbollah is dismantled, the possibilities are endless’
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a direct appeal to the Lebanese people on Tuesday, urging them to envision a future beyond Hezbollah’s influence and calling on them to pursue peace with Israel.
“Israel is not at war with you. We’re at war with Hezbollah,” Netanyahu said, accusing the Iran-backed group of holding Lebanon hostage and using its territory to launch attacks against Israel.
Recalling what he described as Lebanon’s former prosperity, Netanyahu asked Lebanese citizens to remember “the cafés, the culture, the calm” before Hezbollah and Iran’s growing influence in the country.
The prime minister said Israel has significantly weakened Hezbollah, claiming that nearly 10,000 of the group’s operatives have been eliminated and that Israeli forces are continuing operations in southern Lebanon.
Netanyahu also reiterated Israel’s desire for peace with Lebanon, describing Hezbollah as the sole obstacle to a future of cooperation and prosperity between the two countries.
“Israel wants peace with you,” he said. “Seize your future. Join Israel. Build safety and prosperity for all of our children.”
