President Donald Trump's new pick for Surgeon General, Dr. Nicole Saphier, has reportedly deleted several posts on X where she lambasted several members of the administration she hopes to serve.
Saphier, who was picked by the president after it was deemed that Dr. Casey Means' vaccine views were too questionable for even the Trump administration to back, suggested in one post that the administration was hiding that measles was spreading too quickly. Saphier commented that if they had been transparent about the disease, it would have lost its "eliminated" status.
"Seems like they may not want to admit the U.S. Measles elimination status is gone until after midterm elections," she wrote in March. The post contained a link to a New York Times article.
The post, found on the Internet Archive, was one of several deleted between 2025 and 2026 that criticized Trump's health policies and the president directly. Additional deleted tweets show that the then-Fox News medical contributor repeatedly broke from Trump and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Trump's third pick for the post also raised questions about his own health. Saphier, who also works as a radiologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, has since made her account private.

"It’s been a wild 8 years and I’m grateful to have been a part of it. Repeal & Replace COVID MAHA, I have been privileged to have a front row seat while history is being made," she wrote in a still-public tweet on Inauguration Day. "Welcome back, Mr. President @realDonaldTrump — the next 4 years will be busy, and I’m ready for it."
"Dr. Nicole Saphier is an accomplished physician who has practiced radiology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering and has been an outspoken voice on breast cancer prevention, intrusive COVID-19 mandates, the politicization of science, and the federal government’s role in America’s chronic disease epidemic," White House spokesperson Kush Desai told The Mirror U.S. "She will be a powerful asset for President Trump and work tirelessly to deliver on every facet of his MAHA agenda."

The Surgeon General hopeful also waded into the very public spat between Elon Musk and Donald Trump in a now-deleted June 2025 post. According to the post, Saphier slammed both the president and Musk as "petty, loud, & obnoxious."
Saphier said that watching the feud was "like watching two billionaires throw sand in a sandbox." She added that beloved Bravo host Andy Cohen was likely “salivating” watching “grown adults acting like toddlers in a tiara fight.”

Another point of criticism for Saphier came from the president's message regarding Tylenol during pregnancy. "As a mom of 3 kids, I don’t love a man telling me to ‘tough it out’ when it comes to pregnancy," she said, quoting the president's rhetoric.
"Words matter. Facts matter too," she added. Saphier then fought with the president once again over Tylenol usage during pregnancy.

"This isn’t the first or second time he has said this," she said. "Obviously, something was said to POTUS behind closed doors, and the public deserves transparency on the data presented to substantiate these statements."
Days later, she wrote, "My son has a high fever, and I’m angry that I am now questioning giving him Tylenol." She added, "Do data exist showing harm to kids that haven’t been shared with the public, or is the Tylenol ‘controversy’ purely hyperbolic and conjecture? Needless to say, I’m mad."
Both posts have since been deleted.
