Pres. Trump: Permits approved for 2026 red snapper season in GA, SC and NC – FOX Carolina News

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post on Thursday that his administration has approved “all state permits” for the 2026 recreational red snapper season in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
The president called it a “huge win” for fishermen and anglers and said the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, would be “delivering” for people who fish for red snapper.
In the post, Pres. Trump criticized the Biden administration, saying federal seasons in prior years were “very short” despite what he described as record-high fish populations.
Red snapper regulations can vary depending on where fish are caught and landed, and seasons are typically set through a mix of federal and state management.
