Trump: Sit Back and Relax, Iran Wants to Make a Deal – IranWire
US President Donald Trump wrote in a message on the Truth Social network on Monday morning, June 1, that the Islamic Republic “really wants to make a deal” and claimed that any potential agreement with Tehran would benefit the United States and its allies.
In his post, Trump wrote: “Iran really wants to make a deal, and it will be a good deal for the U.S. and those who are with us.”
He went on to accuse Democrats and some of his Republican critics of making the negotiation process more difficult with their continuous commentary on how his administration handles the Islamic Republic.
Using a derogatory and sarcastic play on words, the US president referred to the Democrats as “Dumocrats,” writing: “Don’t the Dumocrats and some obviously unpatriotic Republicans understand that when political figures constantly say I should move faster or slower, enter a war or not, it makes doing my job properly and negotiating much harder?”
In recent weeks, Trump has deliberately altered the first part of the word “Democrats” to incorporate “dumb,” which has drawn reactions from the media and American society. At the end of his message, Trump urged his audience to stay calm and emphasized that the outcome would be positive. He wrote: “Just sit back and relax, in the end everything will work out fine; it always does.”
Trump’s latest message comes at a time when tensions between the Islamic Republic and the United States have persisted in the Persian Gulf in recent days and hours. Within the past few days, the US announced that it had targeted several military positions of the Islamic Republic in southern Iran and on Qeshm Island, while the IRGC reported counterattacks and launched a strike against positions in Kuwait early this morning.
At the same time, reports have been published regarding ongoing back-channel contacts between Tehran and Washington aimed at maintaining the ceasefire and preventing the expansion of the conflict. However, officials from both sides have yet to provide official details regarding the potential negotiation process.
In recent months, Trump has repeatedly stated that he prefers to reach a deal with the Islamic Republic, but emphasized that he would not rule out the military option if negotiations fail.
