Trump approval rating hits new US low. What do Mississippi voters say? – The Clarion-Ledger
A record-high number of Americans say they don’t like President Donald Trump’s work in his second term, according to the newest Economist/YouGov poll.
Data shows a 61% disapproval rating and a 35% approval rating, based on polling from May 29 to June 1. Trump’s current net job approval is at around -26. That’s the lowest result in any Economist/YouGov poll in any week across either of his two terms in office.
The nationwide poll interviewed 1,604 adults. Main issues for Americans include the economy and the Iran war.

About 32% of Americans said inflation and prices are their most important issue.
According to the Economist/YouGov poll, Americans ranked the economy as:
The Iran war was a major issue for Americans, according to the Economist/YouGov poll. About 68% of respondents said the U.S. should reach an agreement to end the conflict as soon as possible. Only 11% say we shouldn’t.
That changes based on additional questioning about whether the deal should force Iran to give up its enriched uranium. Only 34% of Americans were OK with a deal that doesn’t require Iran to forfeit its uranium. About 37% say we shouldn’t make a deal without that criteria.
Most, 57%, think it’s unlikely that a deal will be reached in the next two weeks. About 34% say the odds are 50-50, and 9% are very optimistic that the war will end within that time frame.

Trump has a 48% approval rating in Mississippi, according to polling data from Civiqs. His disapproval rating is 47%, and 5% neither approve nor disapprove, as of June 5.
Trump started this term with about a 55% approval rating in the Magnolia State when he was sworn in. Approximately 42% disapproved.
Mississippi gave Trump an approval rating ranging from 52% to 56% in his first term, according to Civiqs. The disapproval rating ranged from about 41% to 45%.

Favorability polling is different. It focuses on how voters feel about the person in general.
National Civiqs’ favorability data shows 58% of voters have a negative outlook on the president. About 38% of people viewed him favorably as of June 5. Mississippi poll results mirror the national numbers.
YouGov’s poll for The Economist says Trump stands at 58.1% unfavorable, 40.6% favorable, and 1.3% don’t know as of June 1.
