One guest at the State of the Union was particularly surprising: President Donald Trump‘s son.
Barron Trump is the president’s youngest of five kids, and the only child he had with first lady Melania Trump. At 19 years old, he is a bit of a mystery as he rarely appears in public with his highly visible parents. At President Trump‘s address to joint sessions of Congress in March of 2025, Barron Trump was the only one of the family not to make an appearance. The last time he appeared at an official, public event was his father’s swearing-in more than a year ago.
Here is what to know about the first son:
Barron Trump is the youngest of President Donald Trump‘s children and the only child of the president and first lady Melania Trump.
The 19-year-old sticks out for his height whenever he does appear at his parents’ sides, but he usually stays out of the public eye. His father has still given him credit for helping reach young voters through social media platforms and influencers like streamer Adin Ross.
“He’s incredible young man, we are very proud of him,” Melania Trump said on Jan. 29 on FOX Business Network’s “Mornings With Maria.” “This time it’s very different because he’s 19 years old and first time he was 10 years old. He understands politics, he gives advice to his father, we talk about it, so very different.”
Barron Trump is at least 6-foot-7, though there are conflicting reports about his height.
Barron Trump is in his second year of New York University’s Stern School of Business, the first lady told FOX Business Network, adding that he “loves it.” It is unclear if he goes to the Manhattan campus, as reports state he did not go back to New York last fall and instead enrolled in a different NYU campus.
Barron Trump is 19 years old. He will turn 20 in March.
