From bromance to nomance: The Donald Trump-Elon Musk fight is on.
The SpaceX CEO and owner of social media site X posted a “big bomb” tweet linking President Donald Trump with the infamous Jeffrey Epstein files and ending the post with a passive-aggressive farewell.
On June 5, Musk posted: “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
Within 17 minutes, the tweet had 6.8 million views, 132,000 likes, 63,000 retweets and 34,000 comments on X.
Trump did not stay silent, firing back on social media: “The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!”
In another tweet, Trump states: “Elon was ‘wearing thin,’ I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!”
How did it get to this point? Musk, the Tesla CEO, was critical of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” a tax bill that narrowly passed the U.S. House of Representatives on May 22. At more than 1,000 pages long, the Big Beautiful Bill Act will now move on to the Senate.
Musk also left his post with the Trump administration — leading the Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE.
Less than six months ago, Musk appeared at Trump’s Inauguration Day events and has since held press conferences in the Oval Office at the White House and even flown aboard Air Force One to Trump’s private club, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. On some occasions, his son, Little X Musk, accompanied him on these high-profile visits with Trump.
Below is a roundup of the times Elon Musk, SpaceX and Tesla CEO, has visited Mar-a-Lago.
When Trump was president from 2017 to 2021, Mar-a-Lago became known as the “Southern White House” or the “Winter White House” because of his frequent trips there.
It’s a private club so generally Mar-a-Lago is not open to the public. Mar-a-Lago closes on Mother’s Day after the traditional final brunch of the social season and reopens on Halloween.
At 17 acres, Mar-a-Lago is a big estate, but there’s a lot going on there. The private club has 500 members. Amenities include tennis, the Beach Club, croquet court and a spa. The exact size of the living quarters of Mar-a-Lago isn’t known — but it is speculated to be somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 square feet, according to Palm Beach Post and Palm Beach Daily News coverage.
So far, Trump has spent all but three weekends of his second presidency in Florida, skipping out on Easter weekend at Mar-a-Lago for the first time in years. On two of the weekends that he returned home, there were nationwide Donald Trump-Elon Musk protests, with some down the road from Mar-a-Lago.
Since Jan. 20, Trump has visited his home state of Florida 11 times and his Mar-a-Lago estate 10 times. Here’s a recap:
Since President Donald Trump’s second term started Jan. 20, 2025, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has visited his home and private club, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, a number of times.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue announced a fundraising weekend raising $4.3 million at its annual Wine, Women and Shoes benefit event with surprise visits from President Donald Trump and SpaceX, Tesla CEO Elon Musk along with Big Dog Ranch Rescue board member and host Lara Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, on March 1 and March 2, 2025. Shown are Lara Trump and veteran John Wayne in support of veteran service dog training program.
Since Jan. 20, Donald Trump has visited his home state of Florida 11 times and his Mar-a-Lago estate 10 times, sometimes with Elon Musk deplaning from Air Force One at Palm Beach International Airport.
Elon Musk has accompanied the president to Palm Beach via Air Force One more times than first lady Melania Trump and their only child Barron Trump. In fact, the last official appearance with Donald Trump, Melania Trump and Barron Trump on board Air Force One together from Palm Beach International Airport was ahead of Inauguration Day festivities.
