Donald Trump announces Washington DC 'reawakening' after 'Grandaddy' of all projects – Daily Express US

President Donald Trump announced that Washington, D.C., is on the verge of a reawakening after he and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum reopened several of the district’s “decades-old” fountains.
“I hope the Public is watching as the Department of the Interior, Doug Burgum, and myself, are opening up many of the decades-old, closed Fountains throughout the D.C. area,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “So far, over 20 have been revitalized, and fixed, looking better than the day they were built, many years ago.”
“We have some left, some were in very bad and difficult condition, but we will get them all done in a short time. D.C. is being reawakened as to its Beauty, Elegance, and Charm,” the president added.”The ‘Granddaddy’ of them all will be The Reflecting Pool — 2,500 feet long, and almost 200 feet wide, the biggest such structure ever built, but also, the most troublesome for many Administrations in that, from the time it was built in 1922, it essentially never really worked!“
According to the president, the basin “leaked from all angles, drew dirt, grime, and decay, was often filled with garbage, and wasn’t at all representative of the two Great Monuments it connects.” Trump then teased the reopening of the pool on July 4, the nation’s 250th birthday.
“It will be far better than it has ever been, even going back to as long ago as 1922,” Trump promised. The president then went on to attack both former President Barack Obama and Joe Biden for making the pool “worse.”

More info.“It was only open for a short while, during each Administration, before the leaks and decay took over. I, together with Doug Burgum and the Department of Interior, am fixing it the right and proper way — It will last for many decades into the future,” Trump touted. “We’ve had rain delays, and have substantially increased our scope of work as to quality, durability, and even including the stone and granite on the outside of the water itself.”
“A big job, much bigger than originally conceived, but it is being done, after over a Century of ‘stop and go’s,’ correctly!” said Trump. He also teased that Americans would “see something very special at the Reflecting Pool in a short period of time. Stay tuned.”
“In the meantime, watch as the Fountains open throughout D.C. Fountains go up, and Crime goes down! Also, watch for Lafayette Park, directly in front of the Main Entrance to the White House,” urged the president. “I have made a major contribution toward it. The Fountains are now working, and look magnificent as the Park is being entirely rebuilt, using far better and more beautiful materials than originally used.”
As it is the entrance to the White House, reasoned Trump, “it’s got to be spectacular.” He added, “There is no other way! Again, check out what’s going on at Lafayette Park. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
DON’T MISS:The announcement comes after the president floated the idea of creating a garden dedicated to American heroes. “I am proud to announce the site of the NATIONAL GARDEN OF AMERICAN HEROES,” he wrote on Truth Social. “This magnificent exhibition of statues will be located in West Potomac Park, which we are transforming into one of the World’s most beautiful public spaces.”
“Right now, it is a totally BARREN field of Prime Waterfront Real Estate along our Mighty Potomac River,” he added. “When finished, West Potomac Park will be a World Class Masterpiece with elegant Landscaping, and adorned with Beautiful Statues, and be yet another one of my great projects to make Washington, D.C., the Safest and Most Beautiful Capital in the World.”
According to Trump, the garden will display “the MOST BEAUTIFUL collection of statues of AMERICAN HEROES” including “Founding Fathers, Military Warriors, Religious Leaders, Civil Rights Champions, World Class Athletes, Artists, Entertainers, and MORE.”
