President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen sharply among Latino voters who supported him in the 2024 election, according to new data released Friday by Pew Research Center.
The survey found that 66% of Hispanic Trump voters approve of the president’s job performance, down 27 percentage points from February 2025, near the start of his second term.
By comparison, approval among Trump’s non-Hispanic 2024 voters declined 16 points over the same period, falling to 79%, according to the Pew analysis.
Researchers said the widening gap highlights potential shifts within a key part of Trump’s electoral coalition after significant gains among Latino voters during the 2024 election cycle.
Pew Research Center reported that Latino support for Trump increased substantially over the last three presidential elections. According to the group’s validated voter study, Trump won support from 48% of Latino voters in 2024, compared to 36% in 2020 and 28% in 2016.
The survey was conducted April 20-26 among U.S. adults.
Researchers noted that Latinos represented the nation’s second-largest racial and ethnic voting bloc in 2024, with roughly 36 million Latino adults eligible to vote.
While a majority of Latino Trump voters still approve of the president’s performance, the survey suggests enthusiasm among that group has softened more rapidly than among other Trump supporters during the first year of his second term.
The findings come as national polling has shown broader declines in Trump’s overall approval ratings since early 2025, particularly surrounding economic concerns and perceptions of executive authority.
