Donald Trump: “We Can Bomb Iran Again Within Weeks” – WANA News Agency
WANA (May 10) – U.S. President Donald Trump once again referred to the killing of Major General Qassem Soleimani in a new interview with the program Full Measure, claiming that if the commander of the IRGC Quds Force had not been killed, Iran would today be “a very different and much more powerful country.”
During the interview, Trump pointed to the actions he took during his first presidential term and said: “I terminated Barack Obama’s horrible nuclear deal. I killed Soleimani, and that was a very important thing.”
He added: “If I hadn’t taken him out, I think Iran would be a different country right now — a much more powerful country. But he was an evil genius.”
Major General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the IRGC Quds Force, was killed in January 2020 in a U.S. military strike near Baghdad airport while visiting Iraq at the official invitation of the Iraqi government.

Trump went on to repeat his claims regarding confrontation with Iran, saying: “They’ve been militarily defeated. Maybe they don’t know it themselves. Their leaders are gone, Team A is gone, Team B is gone, and probably Team C is gone too.”
The U.S. president also said Washington continues to monitor targets inside Iran and warned: “We could go in again in two weeks and bomb every single target.”
He claimed that the United States has already struck “around 70 percent” of its intended targets, adding: “We have other targets that we can hit as well. Even if we don’t, rebuilding Iran will take years.”
Trump further claimed that the United States maintains full surveillance over Iran’s facilities and movements, saying: “If anybody gets close to those locations, we’ll know about it, and we’ll blow them up.”
He also repeated his allegations regarding Iran’s nuclear program, claiming: “We cannot allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon because they are crazy.”
Trump further argued that if the nuclear deal signed under Barack Obama had not been scrapped, Iran “would already have nuclear weapons and might have used them against Israel and the Middle East.”

The U.S. president also commented on the possibility of continued military action against Iran, saying: “I never said the combat operations were over. I said they were defeated, but that doesn’t mean it’s finished.”
In another part of the interview, Trump described NATO as a “paper tiger,” claiming that NATO member states had provided little support to the United States regarding developments in the Middle East.
Referring to the Strait of Hormuz, Trump also claimed that the United States does not actually need the strategic waterway, saying: “We were doing it to help Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and others.”
Trump’s latest remarks come as he has repeatedly claimed success in operations against Iran in recent weeks, while simultaneously emphasizing that U.S. military attacks could continue if deemed necessary.
