Democrats don't care about Grandpa Trump's age. Problem is how awful he is | Letters – The Columbus Dispatch
Re “Trump’s age isn’t the same news story as Biden’s decline,” May 30: Oh, dear.
Ingrid Jacques is still whining that the Democrats went to extraordinary lengths to cover up the fact that, toward the end of his administration, Joe Biden (who fortunately had surrounded himself with intelligent and competent people) was slowing down.
Yet they keep complaining about how President Donald Trump (who has surrounded himself with yes-men who often have no knowledge or experience in the offices they hold) is too old.
The Democrats don’t really care about how old Trump is, or even about those bruises on his hands.
They care about his ridiculous claims that prices are down when anyone who buys food/gas/energy knows they are up; his senseless, harmful, expensive and unnecessary war; his ridiculous, expensive and, frankly, tasteless additions to the White House; the ridiculous, expensive ballroom; his weaponization of the justice department; his self-aggrandizement and dismissive insults to people who disagree with him, which include vulgar language no other president in our history would ever have used and which cannot be excused as saying “wild things;” and, just because we don’t have all day, the Epstein files.
OK, so maybe Biden was the grandpa who would wander off into the neighbor’s yard and pet their dog. Trump is the grandpa who is wandering off into the neighbor’s yard, kicking their dog, and setting fire to their garage.
Which one causes more damage?

As he bumps up against term limits as Secretary of State, Frank LaRose is running to replace Keith Faber as Ohio auditor. According to LaRose, he is campaigning to curb fraud and “restore public trust.”
This is the same Frank LaRose who so twisted the ballot language in the 2024 Ohio Constitutional Amendment to curb gerrymandering that voters couldn’t determine whether they were voting for or against it.
If LaRose is serious about curbing fraud and restoring public trust, he should drop out of the race.
